Reservation Procedures for Camp DeWitt
  • Reservation period is 6 months prior to date reserved.

  • Complete the Camp Usage Application and the Trip/Camping Notification Form and return to council.

  • Be sure all your troop members are currently registered with Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. Adhere to capacity recommendations at all sites for health and safety reasons.

  • The office will send "Permission for Site Use/Evaluation" as site confirmation. Take this with you to camp and complete Site Use & Evaluation portion and mail to Council within 48 hours of event completion. Deposits will be held until form is received.

  • Site and equipment check will be done by the Ranger within 48 hours of checkout. Security deposit will be returned within 30 days, if site and equipment are left in acceptable condition. Camping trips of 3 nights or more require the filing of Troop Trip Application as well as Camp Usage Application and Trip/Camping Notification Form. If more than 3 nights, a health examination is also required
Security Deposit - There will be a separate security deposit. If any damages/losses are incurred during your stay, there may be additional charges for repairs/losses. The facility must be left clean, swept, and garbage properly disposed of in the dumpster. (See the Clean-Up Check List.) Your deposit will be returned to you after your Permission for Site Use/Evaluation is received in the Council Service Center. Remember, Girl Scout cookie money paid for your camp properties and is used to maintain them. Please treat your properties with TLC.

Refund Policy - There will be a $25.00 processing fee for all cancellations. Groups wishing to reschedule within a 12 month period, may avoid this charge. Camping fees will be refunded if canceled at least 6 weeks ahead of scheduled date. If canceled less than 6 weeks of date, moneys will be refunded only if vacated site is subsequently booked by another group. If canceled by the Council, total fee will be refunded if rescheduling is impossible.
